Dara Streit is an intern with our firm. She is currently a senior at the University of California, Berkeley, where she studies Comparative Politics and U.S. Environmental Policy.
Dara was born and raised in San Jose, California. She has a strong affinity for local politics, and proudly served her community by interning withpublic officials at various levels of government, including Assemblyman Evan Low, State Senator Jim Beall, and Congresswoman Barbara Lee. These experiences with civic engagement shaped her dedication to public service and approach to communications work.
Prior to attending Berkeley, she graduated from De Anza College in Cupertino, California with high honors, earning her Associates Degree in Political Science and a Certificate in Leadership and Social Change. While a student at De Anza College, she served as a Senator on their student government, organizing for equitable program funding, expanding campus voter registration, and implementing sustainable campus initiatives.
At Berkeley, Dara is the Senior Editor of the Berkeley Political Review’s California section, where her piece on state environmental policy was chosen as the publication’s bi-yearly cover article in Spring 2018. This past semester, she was a Research Assistant in the Political Science department, working with a PhD candidate studying predatory loan policies across state legislatures. In her free time, she plays trombone in the University of California Marching Band.
